Children have the right to be safe.
THe UNCRC has many Articles that detail the rights all children have.
These Articles of the UNCRC are focused on keeping all thildren safe -
Article 2 - All children should be treated equally.
Article 3 - Adults should always do what is best for children.
Article 12 - Children have the right to be listened to and taken seriously.
Article 19 - Children have the right to be protected from being hurt.
Article 36 - Children have the right to be kept safe from things that could harm their development.
Sadly, every week 6 children are seriously hurt or die on our roads (statistics from the Brake web-site.)
However, there are things we can do to help keep our children safe in our local community, our school council will be working on these this term.
This game helps children find out how important it is to wear bright clothing, especially when the daylight hours are shorter.

We held a competition in in Road Safety Week, children designed their own posters about keeping safe on the roads.
Our School Council judged the winners. We think they are amazing! The winners each won a bright beanie hat to make sure they can be seen easily.
