History

At Baguley Hall we want to inspire pupils' curiosity about the past and develop their understanding of chronology and the passage of time. Children will learn about significant events, people, and changes over time and begin to understand how these are significant and shaping their lives and the world they live in.

Beginning in the Early Years, children start to understand that as they grow, they begin to do more from themselves. They learn about their personal history; their family tree and how daily life and routines impacts us every day.

There are four key historical learning strands that the children will explore over the course of their education at Baguley Hall:

  • To investigate and interpret the past (Enquiry).

  • To build an overview of world history (Knowledge).

  • To understand chronology (Understanding).

  • To communicate historically (Communication).

All pupils are supported to access the History curriculum at a level appropriate to their needs.
