Children's Rights at School

We are proud to be a Gold Rights Respecting School.

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child gives all children the same rights.

As a Gold UNICEF Rights Respecting School, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is embedded in everything we do. All adults are duty bearers, and work together to protect these rights. This ensures that all children have their rights respected, their voices heard and their contributions valued, and all have the best possible start in life.

At our school we teach children about their rights and we work together to ensure they are met, in our school and around the world. We use the rights as the basis of all our work, and behaviour, in school and join campaigns to help other children whose rights are being threatened.

Rights are for all children and young people throughout the world (universal) , are there at birth (inherent), cannot be taken away (inalienable), do not come with any conditions attached to them (unconditional) and are all equally  important (indivisible.)
