The Rainbow Room is a special place designed to support the learning and emotional wellbeing of some children in our school. It is a calm and welcoming space where children can look at the colourful fish lamp, listen to classical music and have some quiet time in the tent.
There are lots of learning opportunities around the room such as matching and joining word games, numeracy games, construction and motor skills activities, plus sand, water, playdough and a home corner area.
For some individuals, it is a place where they feel calm and enjoy the sensory toys. Others enjoy playing in the ball pit or playing the xylophone and keyboard.
Teaching staff use the room for 1:1 support and to play learning support games with small groups, so that their specific needs can be met in a stimulating and multi-sensory environment.
