SEND Support Group

What is the SEND Support Group?

The SEND support group meets once a half term and provides a relaxed and supportive atmosphere for you to chat with other parent/carers of children with SEND. The group allows you to come and share any experience/concerns and find out more about how school can support you and your child. By working together, we can make a difference in your child’s life.

What is discussed at the groups?

The SEND group is designed around the needs of our children and their famililes. At each meeting we discuss what you would like to discuss at future meetings. This allows us to bring in professionals and other members of school staff to talk to you about different areas of need e.g. sleep routines, autism, the new SEND reforms to name a few. Recently we ran a workshop on fine motor skills. Below you can find the link to the booklet of information and activities that we handed out.

Our most recent meeting...

In our most recent meeting our school Speech and Language Therapist came to talk to parent/carers about some difficulties that children experience around speech development. She highlighted what these difficulties look like, what you can do at home and provided some useful help sheets and resources for you to use at home. Find a copy of the ppt of information shared below.

Here is what some of our parent/carers thought of the meeting:

"It was a good refresh on information fogotten and gave us skills to use at home".

"Really helpful to learn, got lots of information to help us and to use to help our son".
