PHSCE Drama Workshop
Year 5 took part in a PSHE workshop on Wednesday and learnt about respect, making choices and standing up for what they believe to be right.
It started with some drama activities. The children reenacted a story about a young ruler who made a rule that anyone over the age of 70 had to go off into the mountains as they were 'no longer useful'. The children then took part in hot seating and had an opportunity to choose the fate of some villagers by either choosing to do nothing, protest or plan an escape.
The vote from year 5 was to protest against the cruel leader.
The session ended with the children writing about an elderly person they know to help them to relate with what we had learnt in our workshop.
