Dear parents and carers,

At what would, under normal circumstances, be the end of half term I am writing to update you on the arrangements for your children after the holiday.

If your child is in R, Y1 or Y6, I have already been in touch, but do read on, as this is pertinent to you too in terms of the continuing education for your child.

25-29 May: Half Term.

School is closed to all children.

A holiday club is being provided for key worker children. (Places are already booked.)

28th May: Government will announce whether the 5 conditions are met.

1-5 June : Current provision for Key worker’s and vulnerable children resumes.

If and only if, the 5 conditions for reopening have been met,

8-12 June: School will extend its opening to Y6 pupils

15th June onwards : School will extend its opening to Y1 and Reception pupils. If and only if, we as a school believe it is safe to do so

Home Learning

Many thanks to all those of you who have been working so hard to motivate your children to keep up with the learning tasks to date. I appreciate the challenge this is, especially if you have been juggling working from home as well.

For those children in Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5, and for any eligible children not returning on the dates above, we will be continuing to support learning at home.

There will be no work scheduled for next week, as it is the half term holiday, but a new look home learning provision will be available on the VLE from the 1st June, for all children from R – Y6. Activities for our Nursery children will continue as they are.

If you are not able to access the VLE, it is really important that you let us know as work packs can be produced for you to collect from school.

Please check the home learning tab for more detailed information about the home learning and the weekly schedule. It is really important that you encourage your child to complete these activities. If your child is not starting back at school until the 8th or the 15th we ask that you complete the scheduled work at home until then as it will be being continued in school.

At this time, I urge you to continue to adhere to the guidance around social distancing and not allow them to play out in groups with children from other households until we are told this is safe to do.

I wish I had a crystal ball and could tell you all how the next few weeks and months will unfold. Unfortunately, we quite literally have to ‘wait and see’. I can assure you, however, that we continue to have your children’s best interests in mind. We look forward to welcoming them back if they are joining us over the next few weeks and, if not, we will continue to support them at home until it is considered safe for us all to be back together.

Specific information for parents and carers is available at

We are here to help, so please contact school if you need any support.

Best wishes to you all,

Mrs Bulman
