Message from the Headteacher

End of term arrangements

School will be closing for the summer holidays on Friday 17th July. Bubbles will have their usual start and finish times and ASC will be available until 6pm for those who have been attending.

Staff will be in school the following week to finalise transition arrangements and put all the measures in place to ensure a safe return to school for everyone in September.

Your child’s current class teacher will be inviting them to a Class Zoom party on Monday 20th or Tuesday 21st July. This will be an opportunity for the group to ‘be together’ one more time before the end of the school year. Their new class teacher will be in touch before they return in September to introduce themselves and show them their new classroom.

The Government guidance for the reopening has been published. Manchester are also developing a set of principles within which schools should operate. Once all of this information has been received and reviewed, I will be writing to you about the arrangements for your child in September.

May I take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support during this period of school closure. It has been wonderful to see so many children back over the last couple of weeks and we are all really looking forward to having everyone back in September.

Best wishes

Mrs Bulman

Wider opening update 12.6.20
School remains open to the children of key workers, those with EHCP and vulnerable children from all year groups.
These children should continue to attend.
In view of the scientific data last weekend, our wider opening to Year 6, Y1 and R was postponed. Having considered further information and guidance from the Director of Public Health for Manchester and the Local Authority we intend to open to children in Year 6 on Monday 22nd June and to children in Y1 and R on Wednesday 24th June. This will be confirmed on Thursday 18th June.
Any children from these year groups  not already attending school are eligible to return.
We very much look forward to seeing them.

Welcome back to Baguley Hall Primary School, this video will show you some of the things to expect when you return to school. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Home Learning

Many thanks to all those of you who have been working so hard to motivate your children to keep up with the learning tasks to date. I appreciate the challenge this is, especially if you have been juggling working from home as well.

For those children in Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5, and for any eligible children not returning on the dates above, we will be continuing to support learning at home.

There will be no work scheduled for next week, as it is the half term holiday, but a new look home learning provision will be available on the VLE from the 1st June, for all children from R – Y6. Activities for our Nursery children will continue as they are.

If you are not able to access the VLE, it is really important that you let us know as work packs can be produced for you to collect from school.

Please check the home learning tab for more detailed information about the home learning and the weekly schedule. It is really important that you encourage your child to complete these activities. If your child is not starting back at school until the 8th or the 15th we ask that you complete the scheduled work at home until then as it will be being continued in school.

At this time, I urge you to continue to adhere to the guidance around social distancing and not allow them to play out in groups with children from other households until we are told this is safe to do.

I wish I had a crystal ball and could tell you all how the next few weeks and months will unfold. Unfortunately, we quite literally have to ‘wait and see’. I can assure you, however, that we continue to have your children’s best interests in mind. We look forward to welcoming them back if they are joining us over the next few weeks and, if not, we will continue to support them at home until it is considered safe for us all to be back together.

Specific information for parents and carers is available at

We are here to help, so please contact school if you need any support.

Best wishes to you all,

Mrs Bulman
